L'AUTORE: Carlo Lorenzini, detto Collodi dal nome del paese toscano dove nacque nel 1826, è unanimemente considerato uno dei «maestri» della letteratura per ragazzi. Il suo «Pinocchio» è stato tradotto in tutte le principali lingue del mondo e ha ispirato diversi altri libri oltre a numerosissimi films, a parecchi cartoni animati e a una grande quantità di altri lavori per la gioventù. Nel paese natale dello scrittore è stato aperto perfino un museo interamente dedicato al celebre burattino. Carlo Lorenzini morì nel 1890, ma la sua sorridente fantasia e la sua splendida opera letteraria lo rendono ancora vivo e attuale come pochi.
