L'AUTORE: Sergio Tavanti, nato a Firenze e giornalista dal 1970, è autore di numerose pubblicazioni di successo riguardanti svariati campi della conoscenza scientifica e tecnica. Taking into consideration the "intemational" interest shown on the subject and the great number of copies sold abroad (U.S.A., Japan, Germany, France, Great Britain, Canada) we have come to the conclusion that a bi-lingual text is necessary (Italian-English). We believe that even though this could perhaps distract the Italian reader, at the same time it can be a constructive and interesting way to become familiar with the technical vocabulary used in the abundant English publications on this sublect. The diffusion of this book abroad guarantees its quality and represents a significant initiative in the panorama of national publishmg.
